Around 1967, Plummer T. Pettway made a "Crazy" quilt from old pants. Her stepdaughter Loretta admired and remembered the quilt and, a few years thereafter, created this version from similar materials.
Here the focus is on the inherent design elements and abstract imagery in the quilts rather than as finished objects.
